Born in Saint-Jean, Quebec, Luc Normandin studied art at the now-defunct School of Art and Design of the Montreal Museum of Fine Art. He began his freelance career in illustration in 1977. Luc is one of the founding members of AIIQ and he has been its president for two terms.
In the 1990’s Luc plunged into the Mac environment and learned Freehand, Illustrator and, mostly, Photoshop. Photoshop has been Luc’s most important tool for many years bringing him work in exhibition graphics creating large format collages for museums around the world.
He returned to the Saint-Jean countryside in 1996, with fellow illustrator Josée Masse, and began to work from home. In 1999 Alice, their only child, was born.
Luc has rediscovered his brushes and paint, which he now uses in conjunction with Photoshop. He has also taken up Tai Chi and makes jewelry as a pastime.
